                    CharACTers Academy of Fine Arts

CharACTers Academy of Fine Arts provides afterschool extracurricular classes to enrich students in the arts. Screen & Stage Acting classes and the Dreamcatchers Performance Musical Theatre Troupe provide education in both visual and performing arts.
Funds are often needed for costumes, props, performance & educational trips, microphones, sound equipment, lighting equipment and so much more! If you would like to sign up for classes or make a donation towards the Academy, please visit our Connect With Us page. Thanks!

Students are trained in performing arts including dance, voice, and acting. Each season, students will learn a musical theatre show, that will include Broadway and showtune style music as well as popular music from today. Students will learn and perform many different forms of dance such as lyrical, ballet, jazz, hiphop, clogging, tap, and acro. Acting skits are worked into our seasonal show. Skits are used to help each student develop characters and improve their acting abilities. Students will also be taught chorus songs as well as solos to be performed during seasonal show. We work with students to improve their singing abilities, including tone, volume, and control. Girls ages 8-15. Classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6:00 pm. Throughout the semester, students prepare a show that they will perform live as well as film other video projects.  This will test students' ability to perform multiple characters (ages, genders, and emotions) on stage and screen. Classes are on Mondays at 4:00 p.m. at CAFA/Arrow Graphics.  Class prices are $30 a month.  Payment is due on the first class of each month (unless we arrange something individually).  Remember that if its your first time in the acting class, you can come free once just to check it out.  I ask that you commit for the entire semester so that we will be able to finish our project.  I would like to perform a show in April/May.  At the end of each semester, students will receive DVDs of their projects.
